11. team. 827. . 3-4, 0-3. Previous: . Orange

The Syracuse Orange are playing better football. However, they are not winning games. Syracuse’s last three losses (all in the ACC) have been by a field goal. Close losses are difficult to quantify as it relates to a head coach’s progress.

Dino Babers does deserve credit for adjusting his offensive philosophy based on the strength of his personnel. Hopefully, the ball bounces their way these last five games. Syracuse travels to Blacksburg to take on the Hokies.

10. team. 849. . 3-3, 1-2. Previous: . Cardinals

Keeping with the theme of teams that have lost close games this season. The Cardinals’ last two losses have been by a combined four points. The Cardinals have played solid football but have come up short the previous two games.

Louisville needs to play better defense, so they can either not get down early or hold the lead late in games. The Cardinals host Boston College to end their two-game losing streak.

Seminoles . 9. team. 804. . 2-4, 2-2. Previous:

The Seminoles are another team that has lost some close games. Florida State lost to Notre Dame by three, Jacksonville State by three, and Louisville by eight. On the positive, head coach Mike Norvell seems like he will ride the Jordan Travis train the rest of the season.

The choice to stick with Travis gives the Seminoles an offensive identity. There is much work, however, to be done on the offensive side of the ball. Florida State hosts Massachusetts this week and gets Clemson and North Carolina State back-to-back.
