After the first quarter on Saturday, I was ready to write Oregon off and project it to drop somewhere around the 20 range.

The Ducks were losing 14-0 to UCLA and everything seemed to be working in the Bruins’ favor. Oregon was down big on the road early on and there was a pretty widespread feeling that the game might get out of hand.

Oregon stormed back to score 14 straight points and UCLA added a field goal before halftime to make it 17-14.

Mario Cristobal’s team came out firing in the second half and Anthony Brown looked really good, leading the way to 20 straight points (it would have been 21 if not for a missed extra point). The Ducks led 34-17 before a couple of interceptions led to UCLA points as the Bruins pulled within three.

Oregon held on to win a big road game against UCLA.

It’s clear now more than ever that Oregon is the Pac-12’s only College Football Playoff hope and the Bruins jumped a massive hurdle on Saturday.
