4. Graham Harrell — USC offensive coordinator

Graham Harrell was one of the best quarterbacks Texas Tech football has ever had and his name certainly figures to get a look in the search for the program’s next head coach.

To be fair, things aren’t going well at USC right now but that’s hardly all Harrell’s fault. He’s working for an interim coach out there and he’s been a fast-rising name in the coaching ranks over the past few years.

He’s also got ties to the program and could certainly help recruit the same kinds of players Texas Tech has gotten, only with more success I would guess with his ties to the program.

Some Texas Tech fans might be happy and some might not be but let’s remember this isn’t a glamorous job and with Houston moving up into the ranks of the Big 12 in a few years, recruiting in the state is only going to get more difficult.

So the list of options might not be that great and Harrell makes sense on multiple levels.
