Group of Five Power Rankings, Week 10: Houston, Fresno State on the rise
Week 9 result: Lost 20-30 vs Fresno State
Week 10 game: Nov. 6 at Hawaii (4-5)
San Diego State is looking to bounce back after a tough loss against Fresno State. The Aztecs had three turnovers and only mustered 7 first-half points against the Bulldogs. It was the third consecutive week in which SDSU failed to score more than 20 points in the game. The long road trip to Hawaii will be a big test for one of the best one-loss teams in the country.

Week 10 game: Nov. 6 at Memphis (4-4)
No. 23 SMU’s goal of an undefeated season vanished in a flash on a 100-yard kickoff return by Houston in the final moments of their Week 9 game. Good news for SMU is their offense is still great, they’re still ranked and face a banged-up and struggling Memphis Tigers team in next game. The Mustangs need to keep QB Tanner Mordecai upright, he was sacked for a season-high three times against Houston.

Week 10 game: Nov. 6 at No. 15 Ole Miss (6-2)
Liberty QB Malik Willis showed why he should be in consideration for the first quarterback taken in the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s got the arm (21 passing touchdowns), the mobility (9 rushing touchdowns), but his offensive line at Liberty has allowed him to be sacked for an unthinkable 29 times so far this season. A great storyline this week as Head Coach Hugh Freeze makes a trip to his old stomping grounds in Oxford, Miss.

Week 10 game: Nov. 6 vs Idaho State (1-7)
No. 17 BYU got into a shootout with UVA last week and came out on top thanks to running back Tyler Allgeier’s 5 touchdowns on 29 carries for 266 yards. Allgeier is fast becoming a household name in college football with his stellar play this season. The Cougars have just three games remaining this year: Idaho State, Georgia Southern, and Southern Cal.
Week 9 result: Won 45-0 vs Texas State
Week 10 game: Nov. 4 vs Georgia State
No. 24 Louisiana finds themselves ranked in the AP Top 25 poll for the first time this season after a dominant win against Texas State. The Ragin’ Cajuns have just one game left on their schedule against a team with a winning record: Liberty. Louisiana has to get through Georgia State and Troy first.
