Ohio State Football: 3 takeaways from win over Purdue
3. Ohio State football put out its most complete offensive performance
For the 7th time in 9 games this season, Ohio State put up 40+ points. This game has different context compared to the other games, as Ohio State’s offense put up 50+ against a ranked opponent for the first time since this beat down.
After two weeks of tough tests from Penn State and Nebraska’s defenses, Ryan Day’s unit responded by obliterating Purdue’s defense.
CJ Stroud put up another strong performance, as he looks to make some noise in the Heisman discussion. Stroud has had five touchdown passes in three games this year and has cemented his role as starter.
For Henderson and the run game, it was simply a dominating performance. Ohio State football averaged 13.4 yards per carry in the first half on 13 attempts. On the day, Ohio State rushed for 263 yards with three touchdowns.
The lanes opened up by the offensive line were outstanding. Ohio State picked up 151 of their 174 rushing yards in the first half before any contact was made.
As for these filthy Buckeye receivers, well they probably deserve their own slide.
