Heisman Trophy Candidate No. 4: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

Matt Corral and Ole Miss have put together a great season and with two games, the Rebels are sitting at 8-2 with a chance to play in a major bowl game.

But that’s not going to be enough for Matt Corral to win the Heisman Trophy. He had his chances against Bryce Young but he didn’t deliver a Heisman performance and he hasn’t thrown for more than one touchdown in a game in over a month.

Wins matter. But you need some eye-popping stats too and Corral just doesn’t have them. He doesn’t rank top 10 in the nation in passing yards or touchdowns.

Corral has racked up over 3,200 total yards and 27 scores with over 500 rushing yards, but it’s hard to see him overtaking anyone in the top three right now.
