CFP Rankings 2021, Top 10: Week 12 recap, previewing week 13
By Mitch Kaiser
5. Michigan (10-1)
Week 12 result: Defeated Maryland 59-18
Michigan is right where they need to be heading in the final week of the regular season. They have taken care of business and have been very consistent all season outside of one minor slip-up in East Lansing.
They were consistent against on Saturday as they routed Maryland 59-18. The passing game is finally hitting its stride for the Wolverines as every quarterback they threw out there was carving up that Terrapins’ defense.
They even had a backup running back elevate their passing offense with Donovan Edwards recording 170 receiving yards and a touchdown. He had 14 receiving yards on the year coming into this game. Edwards earned a PFF grade of 78.1 with his stellar performance. I imagine he will be featured more in that offense moving forward.
As I previously stated, Michigan is literally right where it wants to be at this point in the season. Everything comes down to this final game against the Buckeyes as it always does. Their whole season including the College Football Playoff is on the line. The stakes have never been higher for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines.
Will they let their fans down in ‘The Game’ as usual? Or will they turn a corner and shock the world against Ohio State next Saturday? I cannot wait to find out.
Next game: vs. Ohio State
My prediction: Lose 32-20
