7. Oklahoma State (10-1)

Week 12 result: Defeated Texas Tech 23-0

As boring of a team as Oklahoma State may be, you can’t deny how well they’ve played as of late. You also can’t undermine their chances at making the College Football Playoff. They have a legitimate case if they can win out and secure the Big 12 title.

This is honestly one of the best defenses in the entire country. I would say they’re easily top five at this point in the season. The Cowboys are completely shutting down their opponents and not allowing anything right now. The way they have been pressuring opposing quarterbacks has been incredibly impressive. They held Texas Tech to zero points and 108 total yards last Saturday.

Listen to these stats that Oklahoma State has recorded over their last four games: the Cowboys nearly have as many sacks as points given up, 20 to 23, respectively. That is pretty insane when you really think about it.

Oklahoma State has played outstanding since losing to Iowa State last month. But it all comes down to this final game for them. And naturally, it’s against their rival Oklahoma who has been their big brother the last several years. Can the Cowboys get over the hump and win Bedlam to keep their playoff hopes alive? We’ll find out this Saturday night.

Next game: vs. Oklahoma
My prediction: Lose 27=20
