College Football Playoff Rankings 2021: Final Top 25 projections
Some might assume that Wisconsin will finish the season unranked because of a loss to Minnesota in the final week, but the Badgers will probably climb back in with San Diego State and Houston dropping out with losses. A nice bounce-back from a horrid start to the year for the Badgers and they’ll have some momentum heading into bowl season.
Kentucky didn’t have a game to play this week, but I see the Wildcats dropping a spot to make room for the Conference USA champion UTSA Roadrunners. The Wildcats exceeded expectations this year and finishing in the top 25 is a good sign for the the future of the program.
You have to give it up to UTSA this season. The Roadrunners finish the season 12-1 after beating Western Kentucky for the C-USA title and yet no one is giving them any respect. They lost to North Texas last week and still bounced back to beat a tough Hilltoppers team with an explosive offense. Can’t keep a 12-1 team out of the final rankings.
Jimbo Fisher avoided the crazy coaching carousel and the Aggies finish the regular season with an 8-4 record. It wasn’t a “successful” year, but the Aggies are bringing in a heck of a recruiting class and a bowl win would give this team some massive momentum.
Louisiana faced a tough App State team in the Sun Belt Championship Game and came away with a tight win to improve to 12-1 on the year despite not having Billy Napier. This team has some serious mental toughness and deserves a nice bowl game as a reward.
