Gasparilla Bowl 2021: 3 reasons why the UCF Football will beat Florida
The Florida Gators are having one of their worst seasons in years
Florida’s starting quarterback, Emory Jones, just made this extremely unusual and bad season even worse. And awkward.
Jones recently announced that he’s going to transfer, but will still play in the Gasparilla Bowl against Central Florida.
It’s beyond strange. It’s a bit like if you and your significant other just broke-up, but you still went to the family Christmas party and acted as if everything was fine.
Not to mention that Dan Mullen is no longer with the team and new coach Billy Napier won’t be coaching his new team. That responsibility will fall to Greg Knox, who previously oversaw running backs and special teams under Mullen.
The Gators limped across the finish line at the end of the season, going 2-4 in the final six games. They barley squeaked out a win over Florida State by three and allowed Samford (4-7) to score 52 points on them at home in The Swamp.
Billy Napier has a lot of work to do to clean up the mess left behind by Dan Mullen.
