Georgia Football: 3 Takeaways from the 2021 Orange Bowl

The Mailman Delivers to Miami
It is time to put some respect on Stetson Bennett’s name. Bennett threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns in this game. Georgia, known for its running game, let the senior quarterback throw the football 30 times.
Bennett was the star of the game for Georgia. Give offensive coordinator Todd Monken credit for the plan to block Aidan Hutchinson, a non-factor in this game. Bennett had time to throw, and he delivered all game.
Bennett delivered the football on time to nine different receivers. Schematically, Monken took advantage of the versatility of running back James Cook, who led the Bulldogs in receiving this evening.
Michigan could not cover Cook coming out of the backfield, proven that he averaged 27.3 yards per reception.
The way Bennett played tonight is how Monken, head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs want to play offensively. The key is the offensive line protecting Bennett, giving him time to find receivers, and developing routes down the field.
Even when Michigan got pressure on Bennett, he could escape and run for positive yards, including a 20-yard run.
Can he do it against Alabama?
