5 College Football contenders that need Caleb Williams

1. Clemson

Dabo Swinney may not be a huge fan of the transfer portal, but the Clemson fanbase would certainly love to see him dip into the portal to land a player of Williams caliber.

Despite the struggles by Clemson in 2021, the Tigers still finished 10-3 and are probably going to come close to a top-10 finish if they don’t make it outright.

If the ball had bounced just a little differently, the Tigers could have won the ACC championship in 2021 and that was in a down year. DJ Uiagalelei was a top-100 quarterback and another highly-touted kid. But he didn’t live up to expectations.

Cade Klubnik will come in as a five-star freshman, but that doesn’t seem to bother Williams and even with some recruiting hits in the past month or so, the Tigers could regain their momentum and their status as a national title contender with the addition of Caleb Williams.

USC might be the best fit, in terms of the current situation and the need for an upgrade, but all of these teams could contend instantly with Williams and each program at least has a history of helping quarterbacks reach the NFL draft, making them all viable contenders if they choose to be.
