1. Drew Allar, QB

One of the criticisms of Penn State has been that they are one quarterback from making a run at the playoff. The Nittany Lions have had some talented teams under James Franklin, but some would say they have been wasted on quarterbacks like Trace McSorley and Sean Clifford.

Clifford is going to be returning for another season, but there is a chance he is going to be pushed hard by incoming five-star Drew Allar.

Allar is one of the most physically gifted quarterback recruits in the country. Standing at nearly 6-foot-5, 232 pounds, Allar has an exceptionally strong arm and athleticism to go along with it. Clifford is going to be the starter at the start of the season, but it is not going to be long before Allar comes in.

The team’s ceiling would be higher in 2022 if Allar is the quarterback and that is why they will make the transition at some point next season.
