Florida Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
For the last conference game of the season for the Gators, they will travel to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt. The Commodores were by far the worst team in the conference last season and are hoping to show some improvement under second-year head coach Clark Lea.
This game should not be close. Lea has put out a good vision for Vanderbilt football, but they are just simply not going to have the talent to beat a team like Florida. This game will be over quickly and Florida will wrap up SEC play with a win over a team in their division.
Final Score: Florida 52, Vanderbilt 13 (7-4, 5-3 SEC)
For the final game of the season, Napier will be tasked with getting a win over in-state rival Florida State. The Gators have dominated this rivalry in recent years, with Florida State not doing much under Willie Taggart and Mike Norvell. The Seminoles have hit the transfer portal hard and have a solid recruiting class coming in. The hope is to make a bowl game and be competitive in their biggest games.
Florida State is going to suffer from not having any established playmakers on offense. The offense was solid last season, but quarterback Jordan Travis is still not a great passer. They are going to need some offense to win this game and they are not going to have enough of it. Florida wins and closes out their season winning three straight.
Final Score: Florida 45, Florida State 31 (8-4, 5-3 SEC)
