Michigan Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
For the third straight game, Michigan is going to face an overmatched opponent. UConn was one of the worst teams at the FBS level last season and has a new head coach in Jim More Jr.
Mora has had success in the NFL and while at UCLA, but the UConn job is a whole different challenge.
Expect this to be another game for Michigan to have in hand by the end of the first half. Getting some backups and younger players’ playing time will be the big story in this blowout victory.
Final Score: Michigan 52, UConn 0 (3-0)
For their Big Ten opener, Michigan will welcome Maryland to the Big House for a Big Ten East matchup. Maryland surprised a lot of people by getting to a bowl game this season and then blowing out Virginia Tech in the game.
Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa had a nice season in 2021 but was inconsistent. The Terrapins are going to need the best version of him if they want to get back to another bowl game. This game could be closer than some would expect, but Michigan is going to win this game because of Corum and the running game.
Final Score: Michigan 34, Maryland 24 (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten)
