One of the defenders Arkansas fans should be really excited about is junior defensive end Zach Williams. He was a top-250 recruit in the 2019 class and he’s one of the projected starters on that defensive line for the 2022 season. It’s been a while, but he’s getting a shot to prove himself.

The Little Rock, Ark., native is a 6-4, 255-pound defensive lineman who has played in 22 games over three years and has a total of 56 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks.

We have yet to see him reach his full potential and I think we’re on the verge of that in the 2022 season with him as a starting defensive end. He already has a nice frame for a defensive end and has shown that he can be a force up front (6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks last year).

Sam Pittman needs that defensive front to step up and I could see Williams being a leader there. I expect big things from him in 2022.
