Projected winner: LSU

When it comes down to it, LSU football could be the biggest winner on National Signing Day with the chance to add a slew of blue-chip prospects.

The Tigers are battling it out with Texas A&M football, and Florida for Harold Perkins. Mathews is an in-state prospect and one of the top defensive backs in 2022 and while it’s hard to call, LSU could add Mathews, Perkins, and TreVonte Citizen.

Florida is a threat in all of those recruitments but according to Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports (subscription required), there’s a lot of positive buzz surrounding LSU.

Projected winner: Oregon

New Oregon head coach Dan Lanning has hit the ground running since his departure from Georgia after the national title win over Alabama, and the Ducks should have a big National Signing Day.

Jahlil Florence was brought back in the fold earlier this week and the Ducks are now trending for four-star offensive lineman Dave Luli, a top-200 lineman out of Washington, as well as Jordan James, a four-star running back once committed to Georgia.

The Ducks also still have a shot at five-star offensive lineman Josh Conerly Jr., but he’s not deciding until March yet Oregon is moving in the right direction there too.

Projected winner: Clemson

Dabo Swinney got a lot of criticism for his 2022 class but if things go as hoped for Clemson the Tigers will have a top-10 class secured on National Signing Day.

Clemson has gotten recent crystal ball projections for TJ Dudley and Caden Story, a pair of four-star defenders ranked in the top 239 of the 247 sports composite rankings and the Tigers could also win the battle for fast-rising three-star running back Andrew Paul.

It’s down to Clemson and Georgia and both schools have gotten crystal balls in the past few days so who knows but the Tigers are poised for a strong finish.

Other strong finishers: Georgia, Texas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma

Georgia might miss on Andrew Paul but the Bulldogs will be signing Dillon Bell, a versatile athlete who can play running back or receiver and it’s Georgia, so don’t count them out of any recruitment until it’s over. The Bulldogs should also add some defensive commitments too and are trending for Christen Miller.

Nebraska could be flipping recruits from TCU in running back Ajay Allen and also a wideout from committed to Georgia Tech in Janiran Bonner. The Huskers have built a lot of momentum, both on the recruiting trail and the transfer portal of late and that should continue on National Signing Day.

Oklahoma is also expected to pick up multiple commitments. Texas is also expected to add five-star offensive lineman Devon Campbell to its top-five class, which is a win.
