USC Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
After getting revenge against Stanford, USC will return home to Los Angeles to face a familiar in-state foe. Fresno State and USC football have met many times before and just saying their names should bring back memories of highlights of Reggie Bush scorching the Fresno defense in 2005. In this matchup, the two-star players will be the quarterbacks for both teams.
Williams and Fresno State running back Jake Haener were two of the best in college football last season and will be facing off in this game. Jeff Tedford has returned to Fresno to be the coach and the Bulldogs should once again be one of the top group of five teams. This might be close early on, but the firepower of USC will be too much for the Bulldogs.
Final Score: USC 45, Fresno State 24 (3-0, 1-0)
Like the game against Stanford, USC will be looking to avenge a loss they suffered during the 2021 season. Oregon State came to USC last season and bullied the Trojans, which is not something that happens often. The Beavers were lights out on offense and had their way against USC.
Oregon State got a major win this offseason by being able to keep its head coach Jonathan Smith. Smith is one of the most underrated coaches in the country and is proving it at Oregon State. The Beavers will once again be competitive in 2022, but they won’t be able to upset USC for a second time. However, Oregon State has been known to ruin USC seasons before.
Final Score: USC 35, Oregon State 20 (4-0, 2-0)
