Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Miami, Fla.. player. Oct. 8. North Carolina Tar Heels. 5. 838

For their ACC opener, Miami will take on one of their biggest ACC rivals, the North Carolina Tar Heels. North Carolina is coming off of a really disappointing season in which they finished 6-7 after starting the year in the top ten. Quarterback Sam Howell is gone, but running back Ty Chandler and wide receiver Josh Downs. This will still be a talented and explosive team.

Miami has lost three in a row to the Tar Heels, two of them heartbreakers. This year, the Hurricanes get North Carolina at home and they will need to win this game to take an early lead in the ACC Coastal. Miami will win in a fun shootout and get a signature win for Cristobal.

Final Score: Miami 39, North Carolina 34 (4-1, 1-0 ACC)

Blacksburg, Va.. 6. player. 847. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oct. 15. Virginia Tech Hokies

After such a big win over North Carolina, Miami will need to stay focused and get ready for a road trip to take on Virginia Tech. Everyone in the country knows how hard it is to win on the road in Blacksburg, no matter how good the Hokies are. Virginia Tech is going through some coaching changes, as Penn State defensive coordinator Brent Pry is going to take over and try to return the program to glory.

It’s a bit of a mystery about what the Hokies will look like. They landed Marshall transfer quarterback Grant Wells, who is a talented player. Pry leaned on the portal to try and remake the roster to compete in his first year in Blacksburg and the strategy may or may not pay off. With so much uncertainty, the Hurricanes will go on the road and win the game.

Final Score: Miami 34, Virginia Tech 21 (5-1, 2-0)
