Instant impact (offense): Tobias Merriweather

Notre Dame is losing some key players from the receiving corps in Kevin Austin Jr. and Lawrence Keys III which means that the Irish are going to have to find some new targets.

That’s where Tobias Merriweather comes into play. He’s going to see the field early on because the receiving corps just isn’t proven and he’ll be a nice two-deep addition. He’s not enrolled early, but that shouldn’t matter. His talent will stand out over the summer and into the fall. And his size at 6-4 and 185 pounds is only going to help.

Merriweather could be a breakout freshman.

Instant impact (defense): Tyson Ford

Notre Dame’s defensive line is losing a lot in terms of high-impact players and four-star defensive lineman Tyson Ford will come in and compete for a spot on the two-deep immediately.

Unlike Merriweather, Ford is enrolled early which is going to help and he already has a massive 6-5, 260-pound frame which is definitely college-ready. He’s only going to get better and more conditioned for this level over the next few months and if there’s one position on defense that could use an instant contributor, it’s the line.
