Florida State Football: Early game-by-game predictions
By Austin Lloyd
@ Syracuse (W)
The Orange almost topped the Noles in Tallahassee last season, and the Carrier Dome is no easy place to play. However, physicality is going to get the benefit of the doubt here.
While FSU currently has one of the better recruiting classes in the ACC, Syracuse has one of the worst. And despite failing to make much of a positive impact so far at Florida State, Mike Norvell is yet to confirm that he is a worse HC than Dino Babers.
It won’t be a blowout, but the Noles will have spectators knowing who the better team is by the end of this one.
(5-5)
Vs. Louisiana (W)
If former Louisiana head coach Billy Napier was still present (and if we still thought that the Cajuns were going to be as good as they were last season), then this matchup would be under a serious upset alert.
But with Napier out of the way, this Group of 5 hopeful will probably be lacking the strength to go toe-to-toe with the Seminoles in Tallahassee. The game should start out good, but FSU will most likely pull away in the second half.
(6-5)
Vs. Florida (L)
Speaking of the head coaching talent that is Billy Napier, he is now the head football coach at the University of Florida. And while he hasn’t even coached his first season with the Gators yet, he has already given them a slightly better recruiting class than Florida State’s. Along with this, the Gators have also won the last three meetings with the Seminoles.
The Gators just barely kept Florida State out of the bowl season last year, and a win for them here will help them do so again.
(6-6)
The Florida State Seminoles will finish their 2022 regular season slate with a final record of 5-7. It will be their 3rd-straight season without a bowl appearance, and their 5th-straight season with a losing record.
