Game 10: vs. Virginia Tech (L)

Sticking with the theme of unspectacular games, we have Duke’s meeting with Virginia Tech. The Hokies have been lackluster for a couple of years now, but they still have superior recruiting when compared to that of the Devils. They have also won the last two meets between the pair of ACC Coastal powers. So this one will also be nothing to look twice at, but a clear victor will be seen by the end of it.

Game 11: at Pittsburgh (L)

If one of these games were going to be Duke’s darkest point of the season, it would have to be this one. Pittsburgh, the defending ACC Champion, is hosting Duke in 2022, and has won seven of their eight meetings since joining the conference. If the term “beatdown” ever needed a visual example, this event is what folks would refer to.

Game 12: vs. Wake Forest (L)

Just when Duke Football thought its 2022 bloodbaths were over, it has one more game to get embarrassed in.

Remember that previous game where Duke had to face the defending ACC Champion? Well this time around sees them facing the runner-up. Wake won 11 games last season, including a 45-7 blowout over the Blue Devils.

If the Pittsburgh game were some hideous entity, then the Wake Forest game would be its slightly-less-hideous sibling. And yes, that is the nicest way to put it.

The Duke Blue Devils football team will have a respectable 3-2 start to its slate this fall, all just to lose its next seven league games and finish as a cellar-dweller in the ACC once again.
