Clemson Football: 2022 Way-Too-Early Game Predictions
By Kathryn Rose
NC State is likely going to come into Clemson at 4-0. With NC State being highly ranked to start 2022 – and Clemson probably starting 4-0 themselves – this game is going to have national title implications.
The departure of future top 10 overall picks Ikem Ekwonu at left tackle is immediately obvious, but running backs Bam Knight and Ricky Person Jr. are also gone.
What’s left is most of NC State’s 2021 killer defense, and future NFL quarterback Devin Leary. With most of their receiving production returning too, at least Leary will have good chemistry with his receivers on the outside.
This should be a low-scoring barnburner though, and NC State survives in Death Valley.
Final score: NC State 16, Clemson 13 (Clemson 4-1, 2-1 in ACC)
After an emotional game, Clemson goes up to Chestnut Hill to take on Boston College.
BC has a lot of guys returning from last year’s squad, but the two they don’t have coming back hurt. Zion Johnson and Alec Lindstrom are both going to be players that last a decade in the NFL at offensive line.
Final score: Clemson 27, Boston College 7 (Clemson 5-1, 3-1 in ACC)
