2. Broderick Jones, Left Tackle

It’s almost cheating to put Broderick Jones on this list, but consider the potential of the Lithonia, Georgia native. He was the 11th overall prospect in the class of 2020, and was the second best offensive tackle out of that class. 247Sports’ scouting lists him as a possible first round pick. Standing 6-4 and weighing 315 pounds, he’s already got NFL size at left tackle.

What it all adds up to, is that Jones isn’t playing to be first or second team all-SEC. He’s playing for serious money this year, and doing so in his first full season starting on the offensive line after Jamaree Salyer departs.

Even behind Salyer though, Jones still found a way to make a big impact in the national title game. He came in as permanent left tackle, while Salyer moved to guard, and this change totally revived Georgia’s run game in the second half.

While Jones was freshman all-SEC in 2021, he’s going to take a huge step forward. There will be no qualifier needed for his 2022 campaign; he will be all-SEC.
