Tight End

Starter: Malcolm Epps
Backup: Lake McRee

The tight end position is a bit of a question mark for USC. They lost a talented Michael Trigg to the transfer portal and he was a young player that had a lot of potential. With Trigg and last year’s starter Erik Krommenhoek gone, there is going to be some competition in the spring to see who gets the most playing time.

The guy with the best chance to start is Malcolm Epps who has been more of a receiver for USC, but will likely make the full-time move to tight end this season. He is not much of a blocker, something tight ends need to do in Riley’s offense, but he can make plays down the field.

Lake McRee will be in the mix for the starting job after playing more towards the end of the season. He still needs to grow into his potential and needs to develop further. Other names to watch include Jude Wolf, Josh Falo, and Ethan Rae.

Look for USC to possibly add a transfer after the spring.
