Wide Receiver

Starting X receiver: Xzavier Henderson
Backup: Caleb Douglas

Starting Slot Receiver: Trent Whittemore
Backup: Marcus Burke

Starting Z Receiver: Justin Shorter
Backup: Ja’Markis Weston

This is going to be yet another position where there is uncertainty for the Gators. They lost their leading receiver Jacob Copeland to the transfer portal. This team lacks a true number one threat and that could hurt them this season unless someone steps up in a big way.

The top receiver for the Gators should be Justin Shorter. He is the leading receiver that returns this season and is going to have to be the top guy for Florida this season. On the opposite side of Shorter will be Xzavier Henderson who had 277 yards and two touchdowns last season. He is talented but has not had the production one would expect.

The slot receiver should be Trent Whittemore who only had a little over 200 yards for the Gators last season and only one touchdown. That is the theme of the position group. Little production and only some talent. Expect this to be a position that Florida might look to add some transfers to after spring practice.
