Tight End

Starter: Keon Zipperer
Backup: Gage Wilcox

Florida is losing last year’s starting tight end Kemore Gamble to the transfer portal and is likely to start senior Keon Zipperer in 2022. Gamble was a pretty reliable guy in both blocking and receiving and might be tough to replace, but Zipperer has talent.

Zipperer caught only 11 passes for 133 yards last season and zero touchdowns. This is going to be a position that is going to need more production and Zipperer is going to have to be more of a threat.

The battle to be the backup is going to be interesting, but I will give a leg up right now to Gage Wilcox. Wilcox was a four-star recruit in 2021 but did not make an impact last season. He is going to have every opportunity to in 2022.

Just like the wide receiver position, don’t be surprised if Florida looks for options in the transfer portal after spring practice.
