Pac-12: Utah Utes

Utah is one of those teams that has seemed to always be around. They have been a very formidable program in recent memory, having appeared in three of the last four Pac-12 title games.

But while the Utes can always be trusted to make some noise, what cements their spot on this list is the lack of competition in their league.

Sure, USC is always a challenge for them in the Pac-12’s South division, and the Trojans did just acquire former Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley. However, I’m not ready to dive right into the hype surrounding that whole situation just yet. Rather, I’d like to see how well he gets settled in Los Angeles first.

The only other true challenger would be Oregon, who has also been a top team on the Pacific Coast for years. But, they are also dealing with a new HC in Dan Lanning — a man with no past experience in such a position. So yeah, if I’m hesitant on going all in with Riley, then one can only imagine how hesitant I am to do so with Lanning.
