Tight End

Starter: Jack Mashburn

Backup: Kole Taylor

This is a position of concern for LSU heading into the season. There is no surefire reliable star at the position and that could lead LSU to look to the portal after the spring.

For now, expect Jack Mashburn to be the starting tight end in the spring. Mashburn is not the biggest threat as a receiver but is known to be a very good blocker. Kelly is going to want to have a strong running game, similar to what he had at Notre Dame and Mashburn gives him the best chance to do that.

Kole Taylor is a guy that could be intriguing as a receiving threat but has not proven it enough consistently yet.
