This is a unit that is going to be bringing back a lot of experience for the season. There might be some shuffling around and the backup spots might not be set in stone, but there won’t be a lot of new starters up front for South Carolina.

At left tackle, there will be a new starter and it is likely going to be Jaylen Nichols. Nichols was a backup for different positions last season and has versatility, which is key. He is going to get the first shot to be the starter at the most important position on the line and he has a chance to be solid.

At left guard, Vershon Lee is coming back and he seemed to get better as the year went on in 2021. At center, redshirt senior Eric Douglas will be back for another season and his experience will be invaluable for a team that is still growing.

On the right side of the line, Tyshawn Wannamaker will be the starter at right tackle after having the job during his redshirt freshman season. Jovaughn Gwym will be back at right guard. This could be one of the better units in the SEC because of the continuity that the unit has with each other.
