1. Antwane Wells, WR

The top breakout candidate for South Carolina in 2022 is James Madison wide receiver transfer, Antwane Wells. It’s no secret that South Carolina had one of the worst passing attacks in the SEC last season and they feel they made a major upgrade at quarterback by landing Spencer Rattler.

The former Oklahoma quarterback is going to need a No. 1 target to throw to and Wells might just be the guy.

At 6-foot-1, 204 pounds, Wells has the size to play on the outside, but also the quickness to operate out of the slot position. He racked up over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns on one of the premier programs at the FCS level.

There will be an adjustment period as he gets used to different levels of competition, but Wells is very talented and could emerge as the top option for Rattler downfield.
