5. Florida State Seminoles (2021 record: 5-7)

Florida State hired Mike Norvell away from Memphis in 2020 because the athletic department believed that he could get the Seminoles back into the national spotlight.

It had been years since Florida State was truly considered a national power and that was due to the sudden departure of Jimbo Fisher just a few years after he won a national title. The Seminoles suffered through the Willie Taggart era and haven’t had a winning season since 2017 which seems like a typo, but that’s how bad it’s been for this program.

Norvell is just 8-13 through his first two seasons with the Seminoles and his seat might be heating up a little bit, but he’s bringing in the No. 20 recruiting class in 2022 and has 10 key transfers joining the program this offseason.

Florida State finished just 5-7 last year, but it feels like the program is right on the verge of getting back to its winning ways and I wouldn’t be shocked to see this team finally push for an ACC Atlantic title, especially if the quarterback situation is fixed.
