12. Arizona State: Tevin White, RB

The Sun Devils’ recruiting class was tiny and messy due to the NCAA allegations and possible looming penalties. Arizona State did find a gem in Virginia with running back Tevin White. The Stafford, VA native is an explosive all-purpose running back that the Sun Devils covet.

White has the ideal size (6-foot-1 and 200 pounds) to start day one for the Devils. White’s ability to catch the football out of the backfield, line up in the slot, and run routes make him a match-up problem for opposing defenses. Xazavian Halladay comes in from Wyoming but expects White to get many snaps in the fall.

11. Washington: (transfer), Michael Penix, QB

Michael Penix has a tremendously high ceiling as a player. Unfortunately, Penix has had issues staying healthy his entire career. Injuries have ended the redshirt senior’s season four times. That said, Penix gives the Huskies, and new head coach Kalen DeBoer athleticism and playmaking  Sam Huard and Dylan Morris do not provide.

Suffice it to say that the potential for a big season and a significant turnaround for the Huskies are all there. However, there is a significant boom or bust factor here with Penix. When healthy, Penix is among the best playmakers at quarterback. However, Penix has never played more than six games in a season.
