3. South Carolina Gamecocks

South Carolina was already one of the most surprising teams in college football last season, winning six regular-season games and then the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against North Carolina.

A winning season for Shane Beamer in his first year with a program that looked to be undergoing a massive rebuild is a great sign and it shows that maybe South Carolina isn’t far off from contention. If he can win seven games with a roster full of guys who aren’t even his yet, just imagine what he could do with the nation’s No. 25 recruiting class and a crop of talented transfers.

The Gamecocks return some key players to a bowl-winning team while also bringing in instant-impact players like Lovasea Carroll, Christian Beal-Smith, Antwane Wells, Devonni Reed, Terrell Dawkins, Austin Stogner, and most importantly Spencer Rattler from the portal.

South Carolina is going to have an extremely talented team heading into the 2022 season and with Rattler leading the way at quarterback, the sky seems to be the limit on offense.

The defense will be solid like it was last season and I think South Carolina is a potential New Year’s Six team this year.
