5 college football teams most likely to go undefeated in 2022
4. Clemson Tigers
The 2021 season was a disaster for Dabo Swinney and Clemson. The Tigers couldn’t muster any semblance of an offense with DJ Uiagalelei under center. He had just over 2,200 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions along with a 55 percent completion rate. It was a disaster of a year for the first-year starting quarterback and former five-star prospect.
But there’s plenty of belief around the program that he will turn things around and live up to his potential in 2022 and I’m buying in.
Clemson finished 10-3 and it felt like a nightmare season for the Tigers so I would not be shocked with a bounce-back 2022 season which could end with a 12-0 regular-season record, especially with Pitt losing some key players.
The ACC is very winnable and the Tigers should return to form with a more experienced Uiagalelei and the No. 10 recruiting class in the country coming in.
Swinney is just too good of a coach to finish with back-to-back disappointing seasons. It feels like a revenge tour is in order.
