Ohio State

Another program that’s having a really good month on the recruiting trail is Ohio State. Not only have the Buckeyes landed a pair of four-star commitments in 2023 in safety Malik Hartford and four-star star running back Mark Flecther, but they are also gaining momentum in other key recruitments too.

Hartford is a safety ranked fifth overall in the state of Ohio, while Fletcher is a 6-foot-1, 225-pound running back out of Florida that Michigan also wanted.

Furthermore, Ohio State is now projected as the favorite to win the commitment of 2024’s top-ranked quarterback Dylan Raiola, as the Buckeyes are trending with crystal ball predictions following his recent visit to Columbus.

LSU

The Tigers are also off to a really strong start in the 2023 college football recruiting class with four pledges all rated in the top 255 of the 2023 On3.com consensus rankings, with three of them being ranked in the top 200 overall.

Brian Kelly has said that recruiting at LSU opens more doors and not having to deal with all of the academic standards is a plus on the trail, as well as the wide-open world of NIL.

So far, Kelly has taken advantage and after three four-star commitments in the past three weeks, the Tigers are also among the top 10 in 2023 (9th).

Safeties Ryan Yaites and Michael Daugherty are the most recent pledges and committed on consecutive days this week. LSU also has an official visit locked in with five-star QB Dante Moore later this month, so yes, Kelly is taking advantage of his new surroundings.
