2022 College Football Rankings: Updated top 10 after spring
4. Texas A&M
The ESPN FPI rankings aren’t that high on Texas A&M right now ranking them 13th, which just seems absurd to me.
In terms of talent, the Aggies are going to rival the very best in college football next season. Not only are they coming off the best recruiting class in the history of the 247 sports composite rankings, but they also added former LSU starter Max Johnson at quarterback.
Johnson might be not Bryce Young, but he threw 27 touchdown passes last season and threw for over 300 yards in an upset win over Texas A&M.
The defensive line lost a number of key pieces to the NFL, however, there is just a ridiculous amount of five-star talent waiting in the wings including Walter Nolen, the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2022 recruiting class.
It remains to be seen if the Aggies are good enough to topple Georiga and Alabama in the SEC, but I’d take them over Michigan, Notre Dame, and Clemson right now on a neutral field in a head-to-head matchup.
