3. Desmond Ridder, Cincy

A quarterback that is seeing his name move up draft boards late in the process is Desmond Ridder from Cincinnati. I fully expect Ridder to be a first-round pick when next Thursday comes around and who knows, he could even move into the top half of the draft.

One team that comes to my mind is Seattle. I know I said Willis was a great fit there and he is, but Ridder would be too. Ridder ran the fastest 40 time at the combine among quarterbacks (4.52) and he’s a winner. He’s also tough and accurate and not afraid of the big moment.

I don’t know that Ridder is ever going to be a superstar in the NFL. But he could be a very good starting quarterback for someone for a long time and right away. He’s probably the most pro-ready prospect in my estimation and should be appealing to a number of teams in the second half of the first round.

Pittsburgh should take a long look at Ridder. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a quarterback with some mobility for once? Pat Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, and Josh Allen are all known for throwing the ball but their legs are a major weapon when needed and Ridder adds that extra bonus, plus he threw 87 touchdowns in college, and had a 62.7 completion percentage. He also averaged 7.9 yards per attempt.

When it’s all said and done, he could be the best of the bunch and probably will be the best quarterback from the group in 2022.

Perfect fit: Seattle or Pittsburgh
