Garrett Wilson – Wide receiver – Ohio State

The depth chart for the Falcons at wide receiver is dire, and that’s putting it mildly. Russell Gage has gone to Tampa Bay, Calvin Ridley is suspended for the year, and the best receiver is their tight end in Kyle Pitts. Combined, the top four receivers for the 2022 Falcons caught for 931 yards in total during the 2021 season.

To bring instant juice to that receiver room, Garrett Wilson would be a great pick.

With instant acceleration and figure skater-esque hips at receiver, Wilson is worth every bit of the 8th overall pick. He has great speed as well, using that athletic ability to burn defensive backs on crossing routes and go routes. In the open field, Wilson finds his true calling, evading tacklers and trouble like a giant, 6-foot-tall whack-a-mole game.

There are drawbacks to his game, though. Scouts don’t like that he can have trouble with press coverage, and his route running is still somewhat of a work in progress. But, those are skills that can be worked on, and Wilson should have a great career.
