2. Jordan Davis – NT, Georgia

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a long history of being great defending against the run. Last season they were downright terrible, ranking dead last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game.

Improving the defensive front is where the Steelers need to make changes and this year’s draft is fairly well stocked with defensive linemen. One of the best ones is Jordan Davis out of Georgia.

Davis is an impressive athletic specimen at 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds. He is a blend of size and athleticism, moving quickly along the interior.

One of his drawbacks will be his lack of playing every down. With the Bulldogs, he was mostly taken off the field for third-down plays. He also is not going to generate a ton of sacks at the next level. However, the Steelers need to find someone that can push the line and fill the gaps. They need run stoppers and Davis most certainly fills that need.

Also from the scouting, it sounds like Davis has a great personality and is a team player. He wants to win and for everyone else around him to succeed.

While he is projected as a top 15 pick, anything can happen on draft day. If Davis is available at pick number 20, the Steelers would be silly not to pick him.
