2022 NFL Mock draft: Final first-round projection
The Eagles could consider Arkansas wideout Treylon Burks here, but wide receiver is really deep in this draft and that last top-tier cornerback is Washington’s Trent McDuffie. He’s going to be an elite man-to-man cornerback and with the addition of McDuffie and Devin Lloyd, Philly uses the first round to upgrade its defense in a major way.
This might seem a little early for Wyatt but with the way the board is shaping up, he might not make it past Green Bay at No. 21. He was first-team All-SEC last season and had 39 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. He’s 6-foot-3, 305 pounds and while he still has work to do as a pass rusher, New Orleans needs reinforcements upfront.
The Steelers passed on a Heisman-contending quarterback from Pittsburgh some 40 years ago and I don’t think they will make that mistake again. I don’t see them moving up for Pickett but if he falls into their lap, Pittsburgh will make him their future franchise quarterback.
