RB. North Carolina. 170. 10. Player Profile. Pick Analysis. Ty Chandler. player

Although Ty Chandler transferred to North Carolina for his final season, he was a Tennessee Vol for four seasons. Yet, his breakout season came in 2021 at North Carolina. In Chapel Hill, Chandler rushed for over 1,000 yards, and caught for another 216 yards.

With a downhill running style that invites contact, combined with good pass-catching skills, Chandler has a bright NFL future. If there’s a team that needs that kind of late-round steal in the 2022 NFL Draft, it’s the Houston Texans.

The Texans running back room is in awful shape. Former Patriots standout Rex Burkhead got the most carries, but was only able to average 3.5 yards per carry. Marlon Mack looks to take over that role in 2022, but he hasn’t been the same since an Achillies injury in 2020.

Chandler, then, looks to be in a great position, if he gets drafted by the Texans. Even if he won’t have much room to run, he’s got the old school runner’s mentality to power through a few guys, anyways.
