Ainias Smith has had a really interesting career at Texas A&M and he’s played a couple of positions but it looks like he’s sticking as a receiver.

The talented offensive weapon has been kind of a Swiss army knife for the Aggies, playing a little running back along with his current position of receiver. He’s been impressive as a weapon and he could play sort of a hybrid role at the next level like a Deebo Samuel or Cordarrelle Patterson, doing a little of everything.

I could see a team taking a chance on Smith because he can carry the rock (he had 293 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 6.0 yards per carry in 2020) and he’s an excellent pass-catcher. He has 112 catches for 1,321 yards and 15 touchdowns over three years. He’s versatile and is going to be a big part of the Aggies’ offense in 2022.

We could see a season of over 1,000 yards from scrimmage, at the very least, from Smith, and if that does happen, I could see him spiking all the way up to a Day 2 selection.
