Big Ten Football: Top 3 head coaches who fans love to hate heading into 2022
1. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan
You had to see this one coming.
While I think Jim Harbaugh has gotten much better over the years in terms of his insane personality and constant grabs for attention from the media, he’s still the one coach in the conference who fans outside of Ann Arbor love to hate.
Heck, before the 2021 Big Ten title season, Michigan fans loved to hate him as well. He was squarely on the hot seat but he finally got over the hump in 2021 and bought himself some extra time despite nearly bolting for the NFL.
Opposing fans love to hate Harbaugh because he’s just an odd dude. He is the only coach who shows up to Big Ten media days every year with a baseball hat on and his whole “who’s got it better than us?” quip is tired. For a while, a lot of teams had it better than Michigan and he still pushed that quote on everyone.
Michigan is known for its arrogance and Harbaugh kind of exudes that.
For as long as he’s at Michigan, Big Ten fans will be rooting against Harbaugh.
