Can Quinn Ewers live up to the hype?

Few players have come into the ranks of college football with as much hype as Quinn Ewers, who was originally the top-ranked recruit in the 2022 class, as well as the No. 1 QB.

Ewers wanted to get paid for NIL deals, re-classified, and joined Ohio State last season after he was originally committed to Texas under Tom Herman before flipping.

Yet, with C.J. Stroud entrenched as the starter in Columbus for 2022, Ewers entered the transfer portal after the season and went home to Texas to play for Steve Sarkisian.

It was a great move for the Longhorns and not just because Ewers is so talented, but because he’s a legend in Texas High School football, so it should make an impact on recruiting in the state too.

More than that, Sark knows he needs an elite QB to really contend in today’s world of college football and Ewers is it. At least we think he is.

We’ll see if he lives up to the hype this season. The 6-foot-2 quarterback will have Xavier Worthy to throw to, plus Bijan Robinson to hand the rock to, as well as some key additions from Alabama at receiver and tight end from the transfer portal.

It’s all up to Ewers and if he lives up to the hype, then Texas football might be back much sooner than expected.
