Jahmyr Gibbs, RB (Georgia Tech)

Transferring in from Georgia Tech, Jahmyr Gibbs provides the Crimson Tide with a unique playmaker coming out of the backfield. On the hoof, it is easy to compare him to New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

Gibbs possesses tight feet, fluid hips, elite quickness, contact balance, special awareness, natural hands as a pass-catcher, second-level ability to make defenders miss, top-end speed to finish runs, and versatility as a return man. There are not enough positive things to say about Gibbs’ tape from Georgia Tech.

Alabama has not had a running back with his skillset since they signed, well, Alvin Kamara out of Norcross High School in 2013 (Kamara went on to transfer to JUCO and end his collegiate career at Tennessee).

There is no doubt in my mind that Tide fans will grow to appreciate Gibbs’ versatility that he will bring to the offense. If he can match or exceed his 2021 season stat line of 746 rushing yards and 470 receiving yards, Tide fans should expect an All-SEC performer with first-round NFL draft potential.
