Florida Football: Ranking 2022 opponents by toughness
Everyone is high on Texas A&M this season but I’m somewhat skeptical. Jimbo Fisher has his best team yet in College Station and I think the Aggies could probably win 10-11 games, but I just don’t see them beating Alabama on the road. There’s also a stretch from Sept. 24 until Oct. 29 that they don’t play a single home game.
The Aggies are going to be really good but I just don’t see them topping Alabama in the SEC West which makes them probably the second-toughest team on the schedule, especially assuming they haven’t figured out the quarterback situation yet.
Surprised to see the reigning national champs on this list? Then you’ve probably been living under a rock. The Bulldogs had one of the best defenses in recent college football history last season on their way to their first national title under Kirby Smart. Now, the newly-extended head coach has to replace nine starters but there’s enough talent there to just reload with no problem.
The Bulldogs and Gators play in the ‘World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party’ in Jacksonville every year but even though this isn’t technically a road game, it’s consistently the toughest game that Florida’s schedule offers.
