Stanford is a massive wild card heading into the 2022 season. No one really knows how to feel about the Cardinal after they just went 3-9 last year. They do bring back 10 starters on offense including Tanner McKee who could be one of the Pac-12’s best quarterbacks.

The offense should easily improve as should the defense. There’s just no way the Cardinal don’t improve from the No. 122 offense and No. 114 total defense.

Playing at Stanford is also a major trap — just ask Oregon.

I’m a believer in Boise State heading into the year. The Broncos went just 7-5 last season but they bring back seven starters on offense, and eight on defense, and that includes multi-year starter Hank Bachmeier who threw for over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns a year ago.

The offense ranked 78th in the nation last year but the major drawback was the run game but with George Holani returning, that should improve from No. 110.

Andy Avalos’ team will be really tough to beat on that blue turf.
