In the spring, I had Florida winning seven games, but I’m buying in more to the Billy Napier hype. I think the Gators will get win No. 8 here and they’ll have a legitimate chance to win nine in the regular season.

Vanderbilt is almost like a bye week because, well, the Commodores are just not good. Poor Clark Lea, he took over a program that’s going to take years to even make respectable. It’s possible that he’ll achieve that status, but it’s not going to happen this year.

Prediction: Win (8-3, 5-3)

Mike Norvell is another coach who might be on the hot seat after going bowl-less in his first couple of seasons in Tallahassee. Florida State has high expectations, so an 8-13 record through two years is nothing short of unacceptable.

He’ll get a chance to win fans over win a season-ending win over rival Florida at home and I think he’ll actually do just that.

Florida fans will be furious at the outcome of this one, but I think Napier exacts revenge in 2023 as the Gators will be legit SEC title contenders.

Prediction: Loss (8-4)
