3. Georgia: Scoring defense is even better than 2021’s

Georgia’s defense in 2021 was otherworldly. The Bulldogs had NFL players at every position and even though a number of them are gone, they’re going to be just as good in 2022. Heck, I think the scoring defense may actually end up even better after holding teams to just over 10 points per game last year. I wanted to predict a quarterback change here, but I won’t do that to Stetson Bennett because he’s a legend but his defense will carry him again.

2. Ohio State: CJ Stroud wins Heisman Trophy

At the beginning of the 2021 season, the jury was still out on CJ Stroud. He wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire, but that quickly changed as he got more comfortable in his QB1 role, filling Justin Fields’ shoes. He became a star almost immediately and put up some wild numbers in an explosive offense. He finished top three in Heisman Trophy voting, but lost to Bryce Young. He’ll win the award this year thanks to an electric receiving corps and an undefeated regular season.

1. Alabama: Tide win every regular-season game by double digits

When I first looked at Alabama’s 2022 schedule, I thought it was a typo. There’s no way a team this good has this much of a cakewalk, right? Well, I was wrong; the Tide have an absolute cupcake schedule compared to other contenders. Nick Saban’s team may need some style points if they’re going to impress the playoff committee and they’ll do just that, winning every game by double digits. I’ll take this one step further and predict a perfect 15-0 year for the Tide with another title.
